Coinage Related Silver Artbars

 In this section, you will find a selection of silver artbars featuring or commemorating coins and bars minted for coin shows and clubs. These bars are pure silver, one troy ounce, unless otherwise noted. The bars may be pictured slightly larger or close to their actual size.

Shipping & insurance charges are added on at checkout and are based on the total amount of your order from our site (see chart at bottom of this page).

Washington Mint Coin Bar Series

The silver bars in the following table were minted in 1972 and 1973 by The Washington Mint. This series of artbars are known as the Symbolic American Numismatic Series and there were 32 different artbars issued according to the Guidebook.

Our artbars are all in mint condition unless otherwise noted.

The $500 fantasy note below contains one-half pound (2/3 troy pound or 8 troy ounces) of pure .999 fine silver. The note has proof surfaces and is in mint condition in a clear protective capsule. The ingot is shown in actual size (6" X 2 1/2") and is the same size as our current paper money. We only have one.

This artbars' design was copied from the US 1896 $5 Silver Certificate banknote known as the $5 Educational note. This design is entitled "Electricity Presenting Light to the World" adapted from a painting by Walter Shirlaw. The original painting still hangs in the Bureau of Printing & Engraving.
